EXPEDITION PROGRAM
Day 1: Windhoek-Sossusvlei region
Arrival at Windhoek International Airport, air transfer to Kulala Wilderness Camp private reserve (about one hour flight). Settling in a comfortable lodge where you will stay for 2 nights with full board, activities and drinks with meals included. Late on the first afternoon, you will be able to explore the Kulala Reserve in 4X4 vehicles until the sun goes down.
Day 2: Kulala Wilderness Camp
Early morning departure to discover the highest dunes in the world to delight in the sun rise. Return to the lodge in the early afternoon for a relaxing rest. Just before sundown, a visit of the Sesriem Canyon followed by dinner and bed at the Kulala Wilderness Camp.
Day 3: Damaraland Camp
Air transfer from Sossusvlei to Damaraland Camp via Swakopmund (about 3 hours flight). Settling in Damaraland Camp in the center of magnificent desert landscapes for 2 nights. Including full board, activities and drinks with meals. The afternoon will see involve departure for a nature drive in Huab Valley where sand dunes and the heavy tabular massif meet in perfect harmony. Return to Damaraland Camp after the sundown.
Day 4: Huab Valley-Damaraland Camp
The entire morning will be dedicated to a search for desert elephants present in this region. In the afternoon, departure for another nature drive, or an excursion in the vicinity of the camp.
Day 5: Damaraland Camp – Ongava Lodge
Departure in the morning after breakfast for the last photo-safari in Huab region. Lunch at the camp. Then air transfer from Damaraland Camp to Ongava Lodge situated on a private reserve next to Etosha. Settling in the lodge for 2 nights including full board, activities and drinks with the meals. In the afternoon, departure for a photo-safari aboard 4x4 vehicles in the private reserve of Ongava. Return to the lodge after sundown.
Day 6: Etosha Park- Ongava Lodge
Departing for a full morning to search for the animal life of Etosha. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, a hike, rhino tracking in the private reserve of Ongava until sundown. Dinner and bed at the lodge.
Day 7: Ongava Lodge – Windhoek
Air transfer from Ongava to Windhoek International Airport (about 1 hour and a half flight). End of tour.
Optional extended program at Serra Cafema from Damaraland Camp on the day 5
Day 5: Damaraland Camp – Serra Cafema
Air transfer from Damaraland Camp to Serra Cafema. Time of departure to be advised the day before. A guide will wait for you at Serra Cafema airfield. Followed by a transfer and nature drive in Hartmann’s Valley on the way to the lodge. Settling for 2 nights including full board, drinks and activities.
Day 6: Hartmann’s Valley – Serra Cafema
Departure for a day trip including a hike, a visit to a Himba village close to the lodge, quad-biking or boat trip on the Kunene River. Picnic for lunch. Dinner and bed at the lodge.
Day 7: Serra Cafema – Ongava Lodge
Air transfer from Serra Cafema to Ongava. Time departure to be advised the day before.

Kulala Wilderness Camp
Wilderness Safaris
Kulala Wilderness Camp is a ten-roomed camp situated in the heart of Namibia’s Namib Desert on a 21,000-hectare private reserve near Sossusvlei. The camp is built at the foot of a rock escarpment, facing west with great sunset views in the mountainous eco-system of this area.
The camp comprises of 10 Meru-style thatched canvas chalets on elevated wooden decks with stone en-suite bathrooms. A staircase leading up to the flat rooftop above the bathroom provides the ideal setting to sleep under the stars on a provided bedroll. The main area is elevated under thatch and offers a homely and intimate atmosphere with a swimming pool, dining room and bar area. The interiors are simple yet comfortable, with 220v lighting. Traditional 3 course meals are served at dinner.
On the edge of the oldest desert in the world, wildlife here is sparse but fascinating. Sightings of animals such as Springbok, Gemsbok, Ostrich, Bat-eared Fox and Aardwolf are exciting in these rugged conditions.
Activities include early morning guided excursions to the dunes, nature drives and walks on our private reserve, day trips into the Namib-Naukluft mountains and early morning ballooning (at an extra cost).
Game Watching
This region is well-known for its beautiful landscapes and the World’s highest dunes. Animal life is restricted but you might meet oryx, antelopes, Cape foxes, jackals, Bat-eared foxes and aardwolf.
Desert adapted plant species such as the Moringa and the Kokerboom are spectacular.

Wilderness safaris
Situated on the northern face of the Huab River valley and looking south toward the imposing Brandberg Mountains, Damaraland Camp offers its guests endless vistas. Early morning mists generated by the clash between the icy Atlantic Ocean and the warm desert air of the Skeleton Coast, drift inland along the river sand canyon, providing sustenance to the flora and fauna of the region.
This comfortable and friendly camp offers walks and drives in one of the best wilderness areas in Namibia. Although wildlife is not concentrated, Damaraland Camp is situated where the rare Desert Elephant roams, alongside Gemsbok (Oryx), Springbok, Ostrich and other hardy desert animals. Rare succulent plants somehow manage to eke out an existence in this harsh countryside.
Damaraland Camp accommodates guests in 10 comfortable tented rooms, with en-suite facilities including flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. The dining room and pub are combined under canvas and an open fire is enjoyed on calm evenings. There is a swimming pool next to the bar.
Activities throughout the area are in 4x4 vehicles and on foot as well as mountain bikes.

Ongava Lodge
Wilderness Safaris
From its beautiful vantage point overlooking a well-frequented watering point and the plains beyond, the well established Ongava Game Lodge is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve. Ongava is the ideal place from which to base your activities when visiting Etosha. The 12 air-conditioned rock and thatch chalets, each have en-suite bathroom facilities. Meals are served in the main dining area under thatch with a view over the camp’s water hole and the lodge also has a shady swimming pool. Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles into the Okaukuejo area of Etosha where animals such as Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Gemsbok, Springbok, and Hartebeest can be seen at many of the water holes in the park. In addition guests can enjoy the hides and guided walks with armed guides on the private reserve. Ongava has resident White and Black Rhino, giving guests staying at Ongava the opportunity to see both species.

Ongava property offers a regular varied animal life including the rare black rhino, lions and several species of antelopes.

Serra cafema camp

Serra Cafema is one of the most isolated camps in Southern Africa. It offers the most incredible experience of Namibia. This 16 bed camp site, only accessible by plane, is situated at the extreme northern-west area of Namibia. The only inhabitants of the Serra Cafema area are Himba herders who constitute one of the last nomadic populations of Africa. The only continuous water supply is provided by the Kunene River from which an oasis has grown along its sandy and mountainous banks.
The camp is situated under huge trees (faidherbia albida) facing the Kunene River. It is composed of 8 thatch chalets each with en-suite bathroom facilities. Added facilities available are a small swimming-pool, a living-room and a bar.
You will fall asleep with the rocking sounds of the rapids surrounding the camp.
During the afternoon, visitors can explore one of the driest deserts of the world. Activities include the observation of fabulous landscapes with antelopes, ostriches, oryx, the crossing of dunes aboard 4x4 Land Rovers and boat trips on the Kunene River where you may be lucky enough to see some crocodiles.
You can also hike in the Desert Mountains and valleys around. Native Ovahimba families living around Serra Cafema frequently visit the camp – an opportunity for you to learn more about their lifestyle and traditions. One of the highlighted excursions proposed in the Serra Cafema is a guided quad excursion in the dunes.
Game Watching
The animal life in Hartmann’s Valley consists of huge herds of oryx and antelope. The Kunene River shelters an important colony of Nile crocodiles.
